Position: Asphalt Labourer
Location: Whakatane, New Zealand
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and laying of asphalt for various construction projects.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in asphalt work.
- Perform manual labour tasks such as raking, shovelling, and sweeping asphalt.
- Conduct pre-start equipment checks and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and comply with safety regulations, company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Assist in site hazard assessments and implement control measures as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in asphalt or construction labour preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Strong understanding of safety practices in construction environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa/permit.
